Whether you are a beginner learning the first steps or an advanced dancer looking to refine your style and add some new moves, 95% of the instruction depend on your dedication and practice out side of our class. No one method can be called the best as everyone has a different learning style. It’s up to you to decide if you really want to learn or not.
Motivation and excellence come from within not from the outside. The only person who can help you to enhance your dancing is “yourself”. Your instructor will play an important part too, but the bigger responsibility is on you. Note that no matter which method of learning salsa you choose, they all require a lot of practice. The following are different types of ways or methods to learn Salsa: Organized Classes Drop in Classes, Private Classes, Workshops, Videos, and Watch and Learn.
In this class you will learn more about yourself, your body, and motivation. All that will help you to learn more about salsa and be a better dancer. Some of the areas the class will cover are:
a.Basics: You will learn very basic footwork, turns, patterns, shines and be introduced to proper posture, weight transfer, frame and connection. The class will introduce you to salsa music and timing. The timing will connect your footwork and body movement with the music.
b.Moves: Short choreography in which the leader and the follower perform an action other than the basics. Could be a simple turn, a cross body lead or a more complex figure.
c.Turn patterns: several moves (more than 1) put together in a sequence.
